We were brought in to fix a very awkward disjointed layout, that left family members separated and resulted in small cramped rooms. We rejigged the layout to provide more generous rooms and utilise the naturally darker areas of the house for service spaces.

Opening up the back of the house meant a generous kitchen could be installed, fitting with the proportions of the house and a full length skylight fills the space with bright natural light.

An oak lined window seat with sliding doors allows the owners provides a visual link to outside, a place to sit read a book and enjoy the garden in all weathers.

A playful yellow rubber floor injects a sense of personality to the space - a theme continued throughout the scheme. A small home working space fits snuggly between the kitchen and the front living space again picking up the mustard yellow and oak. This material cohesiveness links the entire downstairs and ensures there are no forgotten rooms.
